new year resolution

My first new year resolution is to grow patience. Not that I can do it by my own strength, but with a conscious effort, and may God water it so that this portion of the fruit of the Spirit would just grow into substance. I want to be more patient with others.

If you’re sharp enough to see failure and inconsistency in anybody, you should be mature enough to forgive them.

- From Living for Jesus beyond the Spiritual High

That kinda struck me, because Jesus could forgive anybody, and he sees everything as well. He was patient with his disciples, patient with Martha.. So difficult in some circumstances but still he could do it.

I want to see what a person can become, not what I want the person to be at this moment, at this time. Matthew 7:5. The plank off my eye, before trying to remove the speck of someone else’s eye.

While 2012 did not start fantastic at home..but I will keep praying against the spirit of discord and all of that nonsense. They don’t belong. I remember JonW saying that when we return from camp, then things may not be all good. Family may hurt you, school may be tough, then we find it difficult to experience God, to be holy and full of self control. Which is so true, when attacks come from all directions. But “if God is for us, who can be against us?”

And I have hope. After such a long time, I finally have the faith to see hope in the future once again. Praise God!!! He who is in control of all things.
