wise words from the wise
Yesterday Isaiah was talking in the car. Every time he speaks I literally feel life, feel the presence of someone who walks eat breathe the Spirit. And it’s just amazing. Always wish I can one day achieve such a standard to just be walking by the Spirit.
Anyway so he was talking about praying in the Spirit. Humans like to pray through the mind (rational). But the mind is still flesh, still sinful. However, when we pray in the Spirit, in tongues, that’s when it’s different. He pointed out that whenever humans get angry, our minds will naturally turn to curses. So true!! Even the one you love the most are subject to your mind arguments when you are angry. That happened 2 days ago with dad and it was plain bad. I couldn’t pray, my mind was literally consumed with hurt confusion and anger. Thinking back, I remember not being able to control it no matter how much I tried to pray in English, I still couldn’t get peace. Well Isaiah pointed out that when we pray in the Spirit, we pray life into situations. We pray love not hate. Even if we don’t feel it, we are, because the Spirit cannot be cursing or swearing. Instead, it prays what we do not understand. It intercedes for us. That’s such a comfort.
Then because I was telling Isaiah that i found it difficult to read the Bible, he also challenged me to do this: before reading a passage, lay my hand on it and pray in tongues. Then read the passage. Then repeat praying in tongues, and reading it. Excited to try it out!
